It’s been almost 25 years since my boy Rhymin Simon dropped his classic album Graceland, and now he’s back with what he calls his “Best Work in 20 Years”. The first single from the new album, “Getting Ready For Christmas Day” comes complete with Simon’s signature groove and a Reverend J.M. Gates sample dating back to 1941. All holiday references aside, the tune is pretty cool, and peaks the interest to say the least. The new album Beautiful Or So What is set for release in early 2011, check out the single below.
