While I’m not sure if this technically counts as a supergroup, a great deal of musical talent has just combined to form the new rock outfit “Fistful of Mercy”.  While details about the project are still hazy, Ben Harper, Dhani Harrison, and Joseph Arthur have released a live recording of a track of the same name, along with a new Myspace page and cover art.

While Ben Harper may be the group’s household name, the other guys are no slouches themselves.  Dhani Harrison, the son (and mirror image) of the late great George Harrison is the singer and lead guitarist of  ”Thenewno2″, while Joseph Arthur is a rather successful solo artist, and protege of one Peter Gabriel.

We’ll keep you posted on the details of the groups plans as they come available, but for now, check out the in studio video of their new song “Fistful of Mercy” below.
