Drive By Truckers Play New Track On Letterman

Last night Patterson Hood & Co. brought The Big to Do to Late Night with David Letterman.  With the new album dropping on Tuesday, a Friday night slot on America’s biggest late night show can’t hurt as far as exposure is concerned.  They played “This Efffin Job”, a steady rocker from the new album.  I was hoping for “Birthday Boy”, but I guess that will have to wait until I catch the live show.  One other thing worth noting, bassist Shonna Tucker appears to be rocking a Seinfeld style puffy shirt; nice.  Maybe her friend’s low talking girlfriend talked her into it.

The video from the performance is posted below.  I don’t think a computer screen and dinky computer speakers are ready for the Drive By Truckers, but hey, its better than nothing.

Way to make the most of an opportunity DBT. You’re timing was supurb. The sound was tight!!! Continued success for a great launch.

I have tickets to see them open for Tom Petty in Chicago. ——-> This Video Clip X 100! Still a good performance though. And yes, that looks like a pirate shirt.

They played “Birthday Boy” on Fallon a couple nights ago too. It was flawless.
