Colin Malloy and The Decemberists won’t be releasing their new album, The King is Dead until January 18th, but they just released the album’s first single today.  The new tune “Down By The Water”, has a little REM vibe to it, topped off with a some harmonica and harmonies from the always wonderful Gillian Welch. It’s well worth the price of admission, which in this case happens to be free.   Check out the stream below, and if you like it  you can download it through the band’s widget – it will only cost you your email address.
