We here at MOR have always been Electric Light Orchestra fans.  Maybe it’s Jeff Lynne’s awesome frizzy hair/sunglasses combo, or his involvement with The Traveling Wilburys or his stellar production credits, but regardless this man knows late 70′s space pop rock music better than most (a specific yet, ever important genre).  With plenty of well known hits under their belt ELO’s music is just begging to be covered and luckily Jack and White were up to the task.  The folk-pop duo, consisting of Jack Matrango and Brooke White, teamed up with Fitz of Fitz and the Tantrums fame to churn out a solid rendition of ELO’s 1976 hit “Telephone Line.”  On their new EP, Undercover, Jack and White cover several tunes by famous artists (the Mamas and the Papas, Eurthmyics, and the Black Keys to name a few) and if they are anything like “Telephone Line,” then I need to get this EP in my listening rotation immediately.  The pair doesn’t rewrite the book, but instead pays homage to our boy Jeff Lynne and his electric orchestra of light with a nearly flawless rendition of a classic oddball pop tune.  Check out the video below.
