Josh Ritter’s Not So “Secret” Show
This morning Josh Ritter announced via Facebook that he (and the Royal City Band) will be kicking off their Spring tour with a “Rehearsal Show” in Asbury Park NJ next week. This show was at one point a secret but now being announced subtly to his fans through his website. Turns out Josh will be starting off his Spring tour with a “warm-up show” in a very intimate setting, ‘The Saint’ in Asbury Park. This venue claims to be “one of the top small venue locations in the world” and has housed similar up close and personal shows for Guster, Derek Trucks, Kings of Leon, Tegan & Sara and Ween. The Saint hits capacity at 175 people and will only be selling 130 tickets to next Thursday’s show, meaning besides some promo appearances for Record Store Day, this venue is the smallest Josh will be playing on his upcoming tour.
The band plans on showcasing new songs from their not yet released album “So Runs the World Away” as well as some old favorites to satisfy their faithful fans. So if being one of the few people to get a sneak peek at unreleased material in a living room type setting appeals to you, then grab your tickets here, but you better be quick! Who knows, considering the size of the venue, we’ll probably see you there.
The new album “So Runs The World Away” will be released on vinyl April 17th (Record Store Day), and released digitally and on CD May 4th in the US. The new single for the album “Change of Time” is streaming free below, and available for free download on joshritter.com

I got two tickets, I got two tickets………Thank You!
Awesome. Too bad I live in California. Webcast anyone?
That is a 4 hour drive…..but I am considering it….
It is 7 hours for us! But we are going anyway. Wait is Asbury Park technically on the Jersey Shore? Not sure I am ready for that, but I already got tickets. Oh well.
I can’t believe tickets aren’t sold out yet. I got mine Monday and was literally running around the house to get a credit card to buy it. Asbury Park is on the shore, but The Saint is like 6 blocks off the beach. It’s one of the smallest venues I’ve ever seen anybody in, so I’m super excited for this show.
It’s sold out now. Damn.
It was only a matter of time. This show is going to be awesome. Can’t wait for the show.
I was thinking about making a playlist for the drive, but I’m riding with the merchants of rock. Not necessary.
