Lykke Li has become famous for her haunting pop songs and her recently released video plays right into what she does best. Shadowy and slightly menacing the video matches the stripped down feel of the song perfectly. Lykke Li shares the spotlight with her backup singers and a rather sparse instrumental accompaniment (including a vibraphone?) to take what was a pounding and angry song driven by a strong rhythm to a song dripping with utter sadness. Filled with emotional gazes and painful looks I wonder if anyone in this video worries about premature wrinkles? Check out the enjoyably haunting version of “Jerome” below.
