New York based pop/synth rockers The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are streaming their new album for free on their website and from what I can tell there are some winners here. The band specializes in fun poppy tunes that have extreme toe-tappability and their newest effort Belong certainly delivers. After a quick listen some stand outs are: “Heart in Your Heartbreak,” “The Body,” “Even in Dreams” and “My Terrible Friend.” There’s definitely an 80′s throwback sound to their music that reminds me of The Cure and makes me wish I hadn’t burned those acid wash tapered leg jeans back in the early 90′s. Although the album isn’t due out until the 29th head here to give it an advanced listen.
