I’ve always liked the Pixies but have never really gotten around to diving head first into their entire catalog. With hits like “Wave of Mutilation,” “Where is My Mind” and “Here Comes Your Man,” they established themselves as one of the best bands to come out of the 80′s. After their breakup in 1992 their cult following turned into a full on rabid fan base, which is why the band decided to reunite in 2004 and bring along cameras to film their new DVD “loudQUIETloud.”
The film is available for purchase now, but the band is streaming it for a limited time online for free. You can check it out at hulu.com, or watch the stream below. The film deals with the bands break up, their reunion tour, their high energy live shows, personality conflicts, substance abuse, family, death and everything else that they experience along the way. All in all a good documentary about a great band who can now add one more person to their ever growing fan base.
