Watch Superchunk Cover The Cure

Chicago’s AV Club started a new online series in March called Undercover where they pick their favorite artists and have them cover a list of predetermined songs.  Superchunk happened to pick one of my personal favorites, The Cure’s “In Between Days” and turned the 80′s synth track into a grittier rock song.  The band is also about to release their first album in nine years in September of this year but for now enjoy their round room rock out session.

To check out more great bands covering a multitude of songs, go here and check out the rest of the series.

Valentine’s Day Playlists – Pro-Love & No-Love

With Valentine’s Day weekend upon us the gang at Merchants or Rock were feeling a little torn about just posting the usual lovey dovey schmoopie moopie playlist for all the lovers out there. That’s why we decided to post two; one for the lovers and one for the people out there wanting to give a big middle finger to Cupid and his stupid little heart shaped arrows (not that there’s anything wrong with that). So on this Valentine’s Day we’ve drawn a line in the sand and asked you to pick a side.
