Tom Petty Announces New Album “Mojo” and Tour Dates













For the first time in eight years Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be releasing a new studio album.  The disc is simply named “Mojo”, and is set to be released this spring.  The band has had a lot of successes since their last proper LP including an excellent documentary, a rocking Super Bowl halftime show, and a sprawling Live Anthology collection, no doubt building the anticipation for the new record.

“Good Enough,” The first song of the album is streaming for free on the Tom Petty website.  The song has a throwback to the band’s 70′s live show with a driving blues sound.  The release date for the rest of the disc has not been announced, however the band did announce that they will be giving away a free download of “Mojo” with every ticket purchase to their upcoming tour; a pretty cool and original idea.

The tour itself will feature some pretty awesome opening acts including My Morning Jacket, The Drive By Truckers, Joe Cocker, Crosby Stills & Nash, and ZZ Top.  Below is a complete list of the dates:

    awwww Drive By Truckers coming back to KC with Tom Petty! boom shacka mother*#$ka! More excited than words can express. Hopefully its not Sprint Center, but I can’t be picky! LOVE THE TRUCKERS! Best Rock and Roll Band in America! Great Choice Tom, lookin forward to the Rock Show!
